Political Humor - Ten Lame Statements
Political Humor - Ten Lame Statements
One usually has to wait a week to assemble a week’s worth of Obama administration silly statements. This week’s top ten imbecilic utterances were achieved in about 36 hours. And just when the article was ready for release, former President Jimmy Carter chimes in about taking Hamas off the US list of terrorist groups.
Never before have so many lame statements emitted from an inept administration in such a short period of time. Robert Gibbs only contributed one to this list so the administration made its incompetence quite public in just a few days this week.
Words do mean things and statements from US government officials are carefully analyzed for clues to what the leadership of the free world intends. Many of these analysts were released this morning as it appears the current administration has no clue how to handle some very important issues.
Below then are the top ten most ridiculous statements issued so far this week by members of the smartest administration in history.
10. “Deeply troubled” – Obama regarding Iran. The Chosen One should be absolutely cheering on the demonstrators that are currently threatening the lunatic Iranian leadership. Being ‘deeply troubled’ indicates a President propping up his feet on the oval office desk when He might be able to provide some real encouragement to those that want to throw off the Mullah’s oligarchy. Encouraging bravery in the face of oppression isn’t Obama’s strength.
9. “Stop the provocations” – Obama regarding North Korea. Failing to understand that North Korea tuned out the Obama administration months ago, this statement seemed to arise out of a sense that something needed to be said – even if nothing was meant. Obama is highly effective at saying something while meaning nothing (and vice versa). If North Korea doesn’t stop developing weaponry that could wipe out entire American cities, Obama is going to be “really, really, really, really, disappointed.” Of course the left believes that disappointing the Chosen One would be a fate worse than death. Too bad Kim Jong Il doesn’t care.
8. “Government could go broke if healthcare not fixed” – Obama on Health Care. Government could very well go broke BEFORE they even take a shot at taking over and ruining health care. Actually, government is pretty well broke right now. Obama’s current as well as projected expenditures for things like propping up General Motors have of course drained the treasury. However, after ruining General Motors, the President intends to re-task those government hacks with the job of ruining health care. At least they will have something to do.
7. “It is a ticking time bomb for the federal budget” – Obama. Obviously concerned about a financial time bomb somewhere in the future, the President ignored the one He planted under His own chair. Stimulus spending is driving up unemployment – not down. Government competition for funds on international markets is competing with private business for growth capital. If Obama doesn’t get employment fixed in the next few months, ruining health care will be just His dream.
6. “Respect Iran’s Voters” Obama about the Iranian Elections” - Later in the day, after expressing how deeply troubled He was about Iranian election results, Obama thought it was important to admonish Iran’s ruling Mullahs to ‘respect the voters.’ Here, Iran took a page from Obama’s Chicagoland election manual. As Josef Stalin once admonished his aides.. “it is not the ones who vote that matter, the one that counts the votes matters more.” Iran of course chose the Stalinist philosophy of reporting election results. Obama’s Chicagoland roots don’t seem to find this terribly offensive.
5. “Take Hamas off the terror list” – Former President Jimmy Carter. Although a quasi-official member of Team Obama, that most ‘ex’ of US Presidents (stealing the phrase from P.J. O’Rourke) said that he will ask the Obama administration to remove this particular batch of butchers from the US terrorist list. Carter also expressed personal regret that US made weapons were used in Israel’s most recent offensive in Gaza. It might interest Carter to know that Hamas has been lobbing missiles at civilian targets in Israel since they took control of Gaza. Acting positively ‘Obamian,’ Hamas blames this on Israel and Carter seems to agree.
4. “The President is committed to two states, a Jewish state of Israel and an independent Palestine, in the historic homeland of both peoples” - At his press conference Monday, Gibbs outlined the administration’s position that Israel and Palestine should have a homeland. Gibbs would be interested to learn that the central part of the conflict is that both of these groups want that homeland to be in the same place. That is why they’ve been killing one another for generations.
3. “People must beware of “scare tactics and fear-mongering that have killed such efforts in the past” - Obama referring to opposition to his takeover of health care. Another word for ‘scare tactics’ in this context is ‘truth.’ Obama is smart enough to understand that his government payer plan will drive private insurers out of business, leaving His government plan the only option. What He fails to understand is the outrageous cost to taxpayers.
2. “It’s almost as if he’s wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point.” Leon Panetta referring to former VP Dick Cheney. Well… Mssrs. Panetta and Obama can be damned sure that the current administration will be held accountable should the US be attacked again. Now that America is weakened and in the process of deporting terrorists to Bermuda, the welcome mat is indeed out for those that would kill Americans again.
1. “They’re pissed” – a Senior State Department Official. This phrase was used to describe UK government reaction to delivering a couple Guantanamo battlefield detainees to a guest house on Bermuda. Her Majesty’s Government is rightfully incensed at Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration. Now that these guys have touched soil under UK governance, they may well be entitled to pursue citizenship and receive passports. It also appears that Obama had been working under the table with local Bermuda officials while deliberately leaving out Gordon Brown’s government. It apparently didn’t dawn on any in the administration that Bermuda might be part of the United Kingdom.
